Scientific research took centre stage during the much-anticipated European Researchers’ Night, held on Friday evening at the historic Malatestiana Library.
The event brought together curious citizens, students, and academics for an evening dedicated to discovery, innovation, and dialogue between science and society.
Researchers and students from the University Campus of Cesena transformed the library into a lively laboratory of ideas, presenting experiments, theories, and interactive games designed to make complex concepts accessible and engaging. Participants had the chance to experience firsthand how research contributes to technological innovation and addresses pressing social challenges.
Among the highlights of the evening was the presentation of R-PODID, a cutting-edge research project coordinated by Marco Crescentini. Marco introduced the project’s goals and demonstrated its practical applications through interactive project demonstrators and a visual roll-up poster, sparking interest and discussion among visitors.
The initiative underscored the importance of bringing science closer to the community, turning research from an abstract concept into a tangible, inspiring experience. Events like the European Researchers’ Night reaffirm that scientific progress thrives best when shared openly with the people it aims to benefit.
