Seminar: PowerCare Meets R-PODID

The R-PODID Consortium Meeting officially began today in Istanbul, bringing together partners to discuss ongoing developments and collaboration opportunities.

A key highlight of the opening agenda was a seminar by Dr. Schellenberger, titled “PowerCare meets R-PODID.” The session introduced the PowerCare project, outlining its objectives and exploring areas of potential convergence and knowledge exchange between PowerCare and R-PODID.

This seminar underscored the significance of clustering opportunities, emphasising collaboration as a pathway to innovation and shared impact.

PowerCare is a Fraunhofer-funded project, and its collaboration partners aim to develop AI-assisted failure prediction models running on a compact, high-performance microcontroller. The AI-enabled microcontroller will be assembled with high-efficiency GaN semiconductors to form a power module. A co-design of power semiconductors, microcontrollers, and prediction models will result in a miniaturized and energy-efficient module that can be directly integrated into the drives to be monitored.
